Today's journey is to take the metro from the B&B in Prague to the bus transfer station in Hlavní nádraží, and take a luxury bus to Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic, which takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Brno is the former capital of Moravia, and the reason why we arranged this city is mainly to explore the Punkva cave near Brno, the Pernštejn Castle, and the architecture and culture of the city.

When we arrived in Brno at 5 p.m., when we contacted the homestay owner, they couldn't come to give us the key right away because we told them the arrival time late, so we had to wait outside the homestay for more than an hour, which is also a common episode of independent travel. Tomorrow's trip needs to rent a car, a few months ago I tried to rent a car in Brno, but I couldn't rent it at all, not to mention many difficulties! In the end, there is only a car rental at the airport 20 minutes away from the city, so I asked the landlord how to get to the airport? He said that it is most convenient to use the Liftago Taxi App to call a taxi, so he found a taxi to take us to the airport to pick up the car.

Below the B&B we stayed was the Zelný trh Fruit and Vegetable Market, and from the apartment you could see the spectacular Basilica of St. Peter and Paul, as well as the Old Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock, which was very convenient. This is the most ridiculous airport we have ever seen, when we arrived at the airport, there was not a single passenger outside, and the lobby inside was empty, not even office staff, and after walking for a long time, I arrived at the car rental counter and saw an old man at the counter sitting there, because he knew that we were going to pick up the car and waited for us, otherwise he would have gone home. Because it is a small airport, if there are no flights landing, there is usually no one working there, which is really eye-opening.

St. Peter and Paul's Church

The first landmark in Brno is the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, the church was originally a Roman church in the 11th century, a Gothic church built on the top of Petrov Hill in the 13th century, and the church was rebuilt in the late 19th century. However, the church bell rang at 11 o'clock sharp, and the Swedish general mistakenly thought that it was 12 noon, so he kept his promise and withdrew his troops, so now St. Peter and St. Paul's Church will ring the bell 12 times every 11 o'clock in the morning.

The focus of the appreciation when entering the church is the stained glass on the front and the spectacular organ on the other side. The main hall is a general layout and very simple, with three stained glass windows with red as the main color behind the altar. On the flanks is an 11m-high main altar, made by the Viennese sculptor Leimer in 1891, but it can only be viewed from a distance through glass.

We happened to have the opportunity to attend church mass on Sunday during these two days, and it happened that a clergy was inaugurated this week, so it was particularly lively.

The old town hall is now a visitor center, originally built in 1240, is the oldest building in Brno, changed to the town hall in 1343, its Gothic main entrance was built in 1510, there are 5 spires on the door, the central one is curved, legend has it that because of the underpayment of the construction fee, the workers bent the spire in retaliation.

here is a "dragon" called "Brno Dragon" in the corridor of the old city hall, which is actually a "crocodile" of the Amazon River, hanging on the top of the passage, and a large wooden wheel called "Brno Wheel" is also hung on the wall. The tower of the Old Town Hall overlooks the entire Old Town, and you can also visit the Crystal Hall, the Fresco Room, and the Treasury Room.
