Spice Bazaar / Egyptian Bazaar

Mısır Çarşısı, also known as the Spice Bazaar in Turkish, is one of Istanbul's Grand Bazaars. Both are located in the Eminönü district, likely due to their port location. While not as famous as the Grand Bazaar, it's probably a close second. The Spice Bazaar boasts nearly 90 shops, including spice vendors, Turkish delight shops, jewelry stores, souvenir shops, and dried fruit shops. Samples are often offered! (You have to try them to know which ones to buy.) Samples are free, and nuts and dried fruits are worth buying.

Because most of the goods sold there are Egyptian products and spices, it began to be called the Egyptian Bazaar after the mid-18th century. The bazaar has suffered two major fires in its history and has undergone extensive restoration to its present state. It is built in the classic L-shaped Ottoman style.
