Oludeniz literally translates to "Dead Sea," so called because its waters are so calm that even storms don't cause major waves. Officially known as the Blue Lagoon, it's famous for the color of its sea, which can range from turquoise to aquamarine in some areas. The water is incredibly clear, appearing translucent in shallower areas and is truly breathtaking. The most popular activity in Oludeniz is island hopping, where boats take you to the beaches of neighboring islands for swimming.

During our visit to Fethiye, we specifically decided to take a relaxing day-long five-island boat trip to nearby Oludeniz with ARASD Sailing. While driving a long way almost every day, it was truly relaxing to spend a full day sailing in the clear blue sea. Unlike the large, pirate-style vessels, this company offers smaller boats, which are exceptionally quiet and free of loud music.

The boat trip departed from the Ölüdeniz beach, about five minutes from our hotel, departing at 10:30 AM and returning at 5:30 PM, a total of seven hours. Departing from Ölüdeniz Beach, the trip stopped at six major stops around Ölüdeniz. These included: 1. Butterfly Valley 2. Blue Lagoon 3. St. Nicholas Island 4. Aquarium Bay 5. Cold Water Bay

First Stop: Butterfly Valley

Butterfly Valley is a valley in the Fethiye district of Muğla Province on Turkey's Mediterranean coast. It's home to a variety of butterfly species. Admission to the valley is TWD 10 per person. We didn't go inside, but simply took a quick swim at the beach to show our visit. The boat stayed there for one hour.

Second stop: Mavi Magara Blue Cave

This was our second stop, where we enjoyed the crystal-clear waters from time to time during our Ölüdeniz boat tour. To enter the cave, you must jump off the boat and swim. This was a truly thrilling experience. There's no access to the back of the cave. By placing your feet on the high rocks in the cave, you can stand up to your waist in the water. The sun doesn't shine inside the cave, and the water is very cold.

The couple came from Germany and are both of Turkish descent.

The third stop was Aquarium Cove. It's hard to imagine how a bay could be called that. From here, you can see the ocean floor down to 20 to 30 meters deep. And of course, you can see the fish in the water with incredible clarity. You can't wait to jump into the azure aquarium and swim with the schools of tiny fish.

This slender beauty was photographed with a long lens from the boat. Her swimsuit is very sexy, and her bra is like a small square piece of cloth, which is really creative.

Lunch is provided on board, with chicken, grilled fish, and two options.

Stop 4: Cold Water Bay

At this, our fourth stop, rumor has it that the longer you spend at the cold water source, the more years you'll add to your lifespan. The icy cold of the water rising from the mountains and gushing into the sea is truly impressive. If you could swim in this cavernous area, where cold water gushes forth, without getting cold, what would you gain? Strangely enough, if you stretched your feet in the deep water, you'd feel warm. Somewhere in your body, you'd feel cold. In short, you'd experience this strange feeling of being half hot, half cold.

We met a German-Turkish couple on the boat who were on vacation with their baby. They were very kind and invited us to visit them in Germany if we had the chance.

Stop 5: St. Nicholas Island

On this island, we'll have the opportunity to see traces of historical settlements and ancient churches. The name "St. Nicholas" came about when researchers stumbled upon it as an early Christian pilgrimage center housing the remains of St. Nicholas himself. The saint, commonly known as Santa Claus, is said to have been born in the nearby village of Patara, and the island is said to have been his original resting place. Later, due to increased pirate attacks, the remains were moved to the Church of St. Nicholas in Demre, east of Fethiye, and finally to Bari, Italy. The island is dotted with the remains of five churches, surrounded by forty other religious buildings, a Christian cemetery, and a processional path, all dating back to the fourth and sixth centuries AD. St. Nicholas Island is a stunning location offering stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding islands.

This time we stayed at the Oludeniz beach for two days. Our hotel was about a 3-minute walk from the coast, which was very convenient. The hotel was located on the central street of the coast. Our hotel, Tonoz, was a large hotel. In the evening we went to a coastal restaurant, Kumsal Pide, which was very delicious. We ordered clay pot chicken again.
