Malta is located in the central Mediterranean, bordered by neighboring Tunisia in North Africa to the south and Sicily in Italy to the north. It is also a member of the European Union. Influenced by its rich history, Malta blends European, Middle Eastern, Arab, and North African cultures, and its unique architecture makes it a renowned tourist destination. Its capital, Valletta, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while Mdina and the Three Cities are also historic. Beyond architecture, the Mediterranean's natural beauty attracts many holidaymakers.
The Blue Lagoon on Comino Island is particularly famous in the summer, while St. Julian's (San Ġiljan) near the capital boasts numerous prestigious resort hotels. Although Malta is a European country, it remains relatively unpopular among Hong Kong and Taiwanese, making it an even more enticing destination for me to explore.
Malta has a total area of only 316 square kilometers and consists of three islands, including the main island of Malta, Gozo and Comino. All three have places worth visiting and are very close to each other, so most of the attractions can be visited on the same day.
