Pulpit Rock
Hiking Pulpit Rock was quite a challenge for us, as it's incredibly steep. The four-kilometer walk, one way, isn't far on flat ground, but it's quite a climb. Officially, the round trip takes four hours, and we were prepared for a tough challenge. The weather was nice on our morning cruise, with occasional sun and occasional clouds. But we never expected the weather to change as we were about a third of the way up, and it started to rain.
This was truly a cruel trick played by the weather on us. If it had rained the moment we started climbing, we'd have easily given up. However, after planning this trip for so long, it was almost over, and we'd already climbed for almost an hour. It was a real dilemma: should we continue or stop? Being my type, I'm naturally prepared to keep climbing, regardless of the weather. Thankfully, Wei Li was also very cooperative.
Despite overcoming numerous obstacles, the rain, the slippery roads, and exhausting our strength, we continued to climb. Suddenly, the most horrific sight struck us: when we reached the top, fog enveloped us, and we could see nothing. Oh my! Two hours of effort seemed to have vanished in an instant. We had imagined we would be able to enjoy a magnificent view of the beautiful Lysefjord from the summit, like an idyllic painting. Suddenly, we could see nothing, and all we could do was cry and cry! Why is this happening? It's truly unbelievable!
The captain let us brave men who were going to climb Pulpit Rock disembark, and the bus was waiting for us there.
This is just the beginning of all the climbing, be prepared and want to show your skills
Sometimes you will encounter a large area of rocks like this along the way.
Here you can see some silhouettes of the fjord
The higher we climb, the steeper the rocks become.
Oh my god! It's endless, it seems like there is no end to the stone road going up
There is a wooden trail where we can relax. The scene is very similar to the Plitvice Lakes Trail in Croatia.
Terrifying rain and fog suddenly arrived, the road became very slippery and visibility became increasingly low, but we continued to move forward despite the rain.
Finally, we saw the sign indicating our location, which was about 50-100 meters away from the target.
Although the fog is thick, I still grit my teeth and move forward
I raised my arms excitedly to signal I'd reached my destination, but a hint of irritation crossed my face because I couldn't see anything. The fog was so thick. Oh my god! Was there a miracle? I waited for about 15 minutes, ate some fruit and snacks I'd brought, and finally gave up and headed down! See you later, Pulpit Rock.
Although invisible, such a scene has a mysterious and hazy beauty. How wonderful!
The photo was taken from the Internet, the original scene should look like this
After waiting for a while, the fog still didn't clear. Finally, Wei Li raised his hands in the traditional gesture, smiled, and gave glory and praise to God. It was truly amazing! This journey ended with a blizzard in Iceland and this thick fog in Norway. God's eyes were watching over us from beginning to end. Despite the difficulties along the way, the entire journey ultimately ended safely.
We met these two friends on the way, who were visiting from Málaga, Spain, for the summer. We bumped into each other several times throughout the entire climb, and even though we couldn't speak the same language, we were still thrilled. After reaching the summit, we all made the same gesture: "I want to cry." It's a common language. They even managed to bring their little dog with them all the way up the mountain, which was impressive.
