Travel Highlights - Como Lake

Lake Como is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, including sparkling blue waters, stunning mountain scenery, and picturesque villages. It is also renowned for its charming towns, elegant villas, and celebrity charm, making it a favorite destination for tourists and celebrities alike. Lake Como offers an unforgettable experience for those seeking a beautiful, relaxing vacation. Its breathtaking scenery includes towns like Bellagio and Varenna, each boasting postcard-perfect views.

Lake Como, known locally as Lago di Como or Lario, is one of Italy's most magical destinations, a perfect blend of Alpine beauty and Italian elegance. Located in the Lombardy region north of Milan, this beautiful lake has long captivated visitors with its deep blue waters, breathtaking mountain scenery, picture-perfect towns like Como, Bellagio, and Varenna, and villas like Villa Babylenello and Villa Melzi.

The hills surrounding Lake Como hide hundreds of diverse trails suitable for hikers of all experience levels. These trails often feature unique restaurants offering authentic local flavors. After our MSC Mediterranean cruise, we disembarked in Genoa and headed back to Milan. Since we were planning a self-guided tour of Switzerland, we planned a visit to Lake Como. Firstly, it's very close to Milan (about a 40-minute train ride), and secondly, it's a world-renowned resort with unique scenery. It was a truly remarkable addition to our itinerary.

Figli Dei Fiori Restaurants. We had just arrived at Como Lake and had no plans for anything else, so we found a restaurant not far from our accommodation for dinner. The restaurant had a beautiful interior and an elegant ambiance. We ordered the famous grilled pork chop and chicken wings, which were truly exceptional and delicious.

Tiramisu

We decided to stay in Como, as we were planning to catch a train to Switzerland in three days. Our accommodation was very close to the lake, though the room was a little hard to find. The next day, we were going to take a boat from Como to visit many islands. And you know what? It was packed with tourists, and the ticket line alone took almost an hour.

There was a long queue of people queuing up to buy boat tickets, and the number of tourists was astonishing.
