We were stuck in the town of Hofn, so we had to find a makeshift place to stay for the night. Luckily, we quickly found a nearby hotel. We'd thought we'd only be there for a day, but the road was closed for two, so we had to find a hotel. It was a real hassle. We finally settled in a single B&B in the middle of a flat field near Devil's Corner. It was our first time using shared bathrooms.
The hotel we stayed in the previous night was also quite basic, but we were incredibly lucky to have a place to stay in such a situation. There, we met four young people from Shanghai, China, who were very helpful in finding a place to stay. They were also stuck like us, and we felt a sense of sympathy and encouragement. We had to make do with Hofn for the rest of our lives. There was a convenience store in town called Netto, which we often visited. It had everything we needed, and it was very convenient. There were also several good restaurants, all delicious, but not cheap.
Sauðanes Guesthouse, a farmhouse, has a beautiful view of a rocky mountain in the distance.

Pakkhús Restaurant is located in Holborn Harbor, offering views of the boats and the marina. Next to the restaurant is the Vatnajökull National Park Information Center, which features a small exhibition.
Pakkhúsið focuses on local produce and other delicacies, and their dishes are presented in exquisite presentations.
Wei Li ordered a duck delicacy
Jeff ordered a lamb chop
The next night we found Hafnarbuðin restaurant and I ordered a burger. The beef was very thick and delicious, the fries were very tender, and most importantly, the price was reasonable.
The first night in Hofn after the strong winds, we found a temporary hotel called Seljavellir Guesthouse. The facilities were simple, but the price was close to $200 per night, and it felt like a Motel 6 in the United States.

When we had to check out at 10am on the first night after our visit, as the road was still closed, we had no choice but to stay in their restaurant, rest, surf the internet, and wait for news.
