The Nobel Peace Center tells the captivating story of Alfred Nobel, the Peace Prize, and its laureates through exhibitions, conferences, and digital experiences. We thought we'd visit the museum since we'd finally made it to Oslo, but after buying tickets and checking it out, we realized it was completely worth it, as there was only a brief text-based explanation.
The museum is located in the Rådhusplassen Center in Oslo. The annual Peace Prize exhibition tells the fascinating story of the most recent Peace Prize laureate, Narges Mohammadi. The exhibition "Woman – Life – Freedom" opened on December 12th. "The Will to Change the World," an inspiring exhibition about Alfred Nobel and the history of the Peace Prize, showcases the power of "the world's most prestigious award." Until September 2024, you can experience Yoko Ono's creative artistic universe in the exhibition "YOKO ONO - PEACE is POWER." In the Medal Room, you can see authentic Peace Prize medals, while the Nobel Court is the heart of the Peace Center: in an evocative room, you can meet each Peace Prize laureate, surrounded by a thousand lights. Every Friday at noon in the summer, a peace dove is released from the window above the entrance, bringing good news. The Nobel Shop, featuring originality, sustainability, and fair trade, offers unique books and products inspired by the Peace Prize laureates and exhibitions.
