Lake Tuz

Turkey's second-largest lake, the Salt Lake, is located in central Anatolia. Tuz means "salt" in Turkish, and göl means "lake." It stretches 80 kilometers north to south and 60 kilometers east to west, with an elevation of 925 meters and a total area of approximately 1,500 square kilometers. The waters of Lake Tuz in Turkey contain a whopping 30% salt. Turks are known for their strong taste for salt, not only do they add sugar cubes to their tea but they also sprinkle salt on their meals. Over 50% of Turkey's salt consumption comes from this lake, highlighting its importance. The Salt Lake is famous for its white, almost fairy-like scenery. Like a mirror, its surface changes with the seasons, earning it the nickname "Sky Mirror." When the lake is wet, the blue sky and white clouds are reflected in its unobstructed view, creating an almost unreal beauty that creates the illusion of being transported to a fairyland.
