Interlaken

Interlaken is known as the Adventure Capital of Switzerland. Activities like bungee jumping, canyoning, and skydiving attract adventure enthusiasts from around the world. Rich in history: The town boasts a charming medieval atmosphere and is home to many historic buildings, such as the Hochmatt Park and the old wooden bridge.

Interlaken, known as the Adventure Capital of Switzerland, is nestled between two magnificent lakes and surrounded by the majestic Swiss Alps. It is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering activities such as paragliding, skydiving, hiking, and skiing. The town is also known for its breathtaking scenery, charming Swiss chalets, and convenient access to attractions such as the Jungfraujoch, the "Top of Europe."

I'm including this town because we were staying here on our way to Jungfraujoch and First. Actually, we didn't need to stay here because we hadn't done enough research, and it was actually quite inconvenient. Staying in Grindelwald was more convenient for our destination, but since we were already there, we decided to make the best of it. We did a bit of exploring, but we only visited one place: the St. Beatus Caves.

Living in Interlaken, we bought several meals at the nearby supermarket Coop. Their best thing is the grilled chicken legs, salads, and everything else, which is both convenient and economical.

St. Beatus-Höhlen, Swiss Caves

St. Beatus-Höhlen Caves are located on the northeastern shore of Lake Thun, near Interlaken, deep in the heart of the Niederhorn. The caves offer an easy, illuminated trail that descends 1,000 meters below the surface. Along the way, visitors can admire a cascading underground waterfall and navigate narrow passages into caverns studded with stalactites and stalagmites. Inside, they can also see a prehistoric settlement and St. Beatus's room. Visitors should allow ample time to visit the cave museum at the entrance. The museum offers information on cave research and exploration. A restaurant is located at the cave entrance.
